Facades Photos
A facade is, by extension, any exterior facing of a building, but by default, when it comes to façade, refers to the front or principal more data indicating otherwise (rear façade, north facade, etc.).
The facade is the subject of special concern in the architectural design, it being the only part of the building perceived from the outside, often it is practically the only remedy available to express or describe the construction. The expressive component is so rooted in the concept of the facade, which sometimes refers to the cover as the "fifth façade" when it has an aesthetic intention. [1
Historical Development
The facade has undergone many changes throughout history for their condition or canvas support for the various architectural styles. However, the most profound changes have resulted from the evolution of construction techniques.
Traditionally, the facade has been both the structure and building envelope, and therefore the ability to open holes for lighting, ventilating, or have outside views has been limited. The historical development of the façade has been as a technology race towards expanding these necessary gaps.
The size and arrangement of the holes has been influenced primarily by two limitations: the ability to open (evolution of load-bearing wall), and the ability to protect (evolution of the glass)
Operation
The facades, in addition to the aesthetic function, must meet other requirements: must be waterproof and insulate the interior thermal and acoustic. The section of a conventional facade is composed of two layers: an outer, usually of brick, and an inner, which may be of brick or other materials such as plasterboard. Between these two sheets are placed a thermal insulator for what is commonly used materials such as polyurethane, fiberglass or rock wool. To avoid condensation interstitial also placed on the warm side of insulation vapor barrier. Finally, we need a small separation of one or two inches to allow steam to vent and do not soak the insulation, rendering them useless.
The thickness of a wall facade is due both to stability or strength requirements as to the need for soundproofing mass and space to accommodate the insulation and air space.
The facade is a very important part of your home, or building local represents you and your family.
