When entered in Incompetence Psychic?

What does mental incompetence?

One way perhaps schematic but educational for our purposes, we divide our competition "areas". We talked about areas of intellectual competence, in the sense of being able to think well, areas of emotional competence as measured by the ability of a person to take charge of own and others' fears and finally the operational area of competence as the ability to plan and perform tasks. In short it comes to thinking, feeling and doing consistently.

A person will be more balanced if you think, feel and do in the same direction. Some people think properly (good intellectual ability), but either do not know go to practice (operational incompetence) or unable to persevere long enough in something, we call faults as willpower (affective incompetence). The latter type of incompetence, is the most difficult to treat.

When we fail in any of these levels of competition, the signal level of anxiety (fear of something) to pass up traumatic anxiety (fear of fear). This is the time to seek professional help (see Sheet 2).

When a patient comes to our office asking for that help, it is likely to be installed on any type of mental incompetence and therefore, their anxiety levels will be fired. Suffer a great loss of energy and difficulty for the day to day.

To understand how we function psychologically otherwise, I will rely on the synthesis of the personality that makes psychoanalytic theory, but to make teaching more accessible and I'm going to allow any license, which I hope will forgive me know purists.

First we thought that the patient is like a company in crisis and not to intervene immediately, go straight to bankruptcy. The first thing that would make any sensible businessman who knew that his company was not working well, would be to hire the professional services of an expert to audit, and eventually show him the way out of the crisis. That professional in this case is a therapist.

The patient showed a clear lack of competence to meet the needs or external reality. As auditors, therapists should focus our efforts for change by looking at the "business elite", ie the board itself, where no doubt there is a chairman of the board (the patient), overwhelmed by the demands of his advisers and incapable to make decisions "adapted".

The president of the board and I call IT directors call them, superego and reality.

The IT or child, is the director who represents the most childish and primitive form of impulse and desire. It is governed by the pleasure principle and represents "what I want to be."

The superego or old, shows the more conservative aspects of the company (the patient) and in this sense represents the "old". Conscience is developed in childhood through the assimilation of cultural norms and beliefs family (see Sheet 3). It is governed by "what should be."

Finally, we have the reality, as the principal adviser that represents "what". Captures the outside world and is governed by the "reality principle".

The "picture" with which we usually find therapists, is a company where the president-patient (I ADULT) does not preside over nothing and is absolutely overwhelmed, if not manipulated by any of the directors. Reality does not exist and the advice or send the IT-CHILD or the superego-OLD. It's complete chaos.

As counselors, therapists, the first thing we have to make him see the patient-president, is the need to "hire" the counselor is missing and called REALITY. In the early days of therapy, the "reality principle" what you have to exercise the therapist through his ego observer (see Sheet 6), to try to bring order to the board of the patient. We pay the patient, our reality principle.

As seen, the personality depends on the success of the I (president) in achieving a better understanding between the demands of the IT more instinctive, social morality of the superego and reality. If there is good negotiation, no adaptation and adaptation if there is neurosis. Therefore, the President is required to permanently be able to negotiate between the various psychic agencies with competing interests, all adapted to reality.
