Retirement is not a trip of a lifetime, but a trip to the rest of your life
Retirement planning is a waste of time unless you get to retirement? We all know someone who has never had a chance to do anything he wanted to do when they retired, but you better plan for retirement or death? Tell me, what is the point in putting off the things that we like to do now when you do not even know what is ahead 5 minutes from now? Could this perhaps be the underlying reason we find it difficult to plan for the future?
Most of our life is spent doing the things we stress to, with an attitude that says, the longer we live the best life you get and especially without changing anything. (And 'this pure optimism or what's his name?) Looking back, that was actually the easiest. Just work, work and things will be OK. Many spend their lives to make business decisions and family, but not about me / us. Why is it so difficult about the idea that what really matters in life is the amount of pleasure you have here, and how long are you here?
All it takes is a decision to do things differently and the will to do them. The next thing you know, life is shot and you're doing things you enjoy. Just make a choice to live a life that is full of as many situations as pleasant as possible and then act on that decision. Before you decide in life, the better. The baby boom generation should take the decision to change now. Typically, the baby boom generation has spent their years of work to make ends meet, raising children and saving for tomorrow without much thought for the morrow. Guess what? Tomorrow is right around the corner.
Retirement is not a trip of a lifetime, but a trip for the rest of your life. Here's a question for you. Have you ever taken a trip without any plan on where you wanted to go, if it was the beach, mountains, visiting family, etc.? Maybe just make a trip to watch television and read the newspaper? How long a trip like that last? How many years did you spend on a TV / newspaper travel? This would probably be a journey to be cut rather short, and if we're talking about the rest of life, that too would probably be cut short.
Retirement is a journey and here are some questions to ask. In the first place, can afford? Some suggest $ 600,000.00 + is a reasonable figure to expect to spend during retirement. There are many financial advisors who can help with this question today.
When I go on this trip, what do I do? What I like to do? Where do I want? Consider what to do with the extra free time. Remember to plan the same number of hours that were spent during the workday and if you use a hobby, adding that now pass the time on your hobbies. There are many possibilities for leisure activities that you need to find something of particular interest. The authorities tell us we need more of a hobby or activity. Many of these interesting activities can also lead to additional revenue streams.
Baby Boomers, retirement will be wonderful if you plan for now .......
